This was an excellent trip that was lead by Mayor Thomas Chan, there was great harmony between the delegates which participated on this trade mission. There was a good sense of achievement and many useful ties and bonds were created.

We were shown great insights into the Chinese culture, and many opportunities for business links between China and the UK were established.

The team which arranged and led the mission were true experts in managing trips of this magnitude.  Right from the planning meetings prior to the trip right till the various journeys during the course of the trade mission, things were organised with military precision.

We were greeted by the Government officials of Guangzhou who allowed this to be a rewarding and memorable trade mission. We visited Dong Guang, Guangzhon and Hong Kong. There are great opportunities for great business relationships to be built. And this will be the start of many great links and bonds between the two countries.

There were a number of great speeches and the events where inspiring and useful. I was able to practice my command of the Chinese language, My speech started with “Ni hao” which was well received, that means “Hello” in chinese.

The trade mission will lead to many great working relationships between Chinese and UK businesses. Mayor Thomas Chan and his wife were excellent repersentatives for Redbridge and the UK. The Chinese people received us with great warmeth and hospitality. This is one of the great events that happen once in alife time, the businesses who came from the UK had great rapport with one another.

We were taken to see one of the excellent business parks which has great facilities for manufacturing. China looks set to be a excellent manufacturing partner for the UK.
